AC/DC are one of the greatest hard rock band in history, with an estimated 200 mil-lion albums sold and they seem to have picked up the pace again.
Many things happened the last few years, included the death of founding member Malcolm Young in 2017. In 2015 drummer Phil Rudd was replaced after being convicted of threatening to kill and drug possession, 2016 Brian Johnson departing the band due to serious hearing issues and the same year Cliff Williams announced his retirement. Against all odds, they came back together in 2018 with re-enforcement of Stevie Young (Angus and Malcolm’s nephew), for recording a new album.
AC/DC’s new album “Power Up” was released worldwide on November 13th. Recorded in Vancouver during a six-week session in August/September 2018 and throughout 2019 in Los Angeles, “PWR/UP” was produced by Brendan O’Brien, and engineered & mixed by Mike Fraser.
Power Up currently is No. 1 in Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom. Most likely it will reach No. 1 in Australia also and even No. 1 in the United States is a very good possibility.
The first single “Shot In The Dark” was released the 7th of October and the second single “Realize” was released this month.
With no doubt the boys from Down Under are back (in black).
